Flat Eye & Eye Web Sling – ASME B30.9 Class 7
✅Product Overview
Flat synthetic fiber web sling with eye-and-eye terminations. Manufactured in strict compliance with ASME B30.9 and WSTDA-WS-1 guidelines.combining ultra-high strength, minimal weight, and extremely low stretch with a flat profile for low-clearance thread-through lifting. Designed for heavy-duty lifting applications in the U.S. and other markets adhering to American lifting standards.
We make these products according to ASME B30.9, WSTDA-WS-1, Customers could choice special length base on special require.
✅What Does "Flat Eye & Eye" Mean?
The defining feature is that both termination eyes lie in the same plane as the sling body. This flat profile allows the sling to be easily inserted under and retrieved from loads with minimal clearance — making it ideal for tight spaces and "thread-through" lifting applications.
In the industry, this configuration is commonly referred to as Type 3 sling. It supports three primary hitches:
Vertical Hitch – straight lift
Choker Hitch – grips the load when tightened
Basket Hitch – cradles the load for maximum capacity
✅Customer Facing FAQ – Flat Eye & Eye Web Sling ASME B30.9 Class 7
Q1: Can I use this sling with a shackle or hook directly through the eye?
A: Yes, but with proper fitting sizing:
The shackle or hook should fit the eye opening without forcing or twisting the eye.
The bearing surface should be smooth — no sharp edges that could cut the webbing.
Avoid excessive angular loading on the eye — use a thimble or wear sleeve if needed.
A good rule of thumb: the diameter of the hook or pin should be at least 2× the eye thickness to prevent excessive stress concentration.
Q2: Is this sling compatible with a spreader bar or lifting beam?
A: Yes. The flat eye & eye design works well with spreader bars and lifting beams. When used in this configuration:
The sling is typically in a vertical hitch from the beam to the load.
Ensure the load is balanced — uneven loading will exceed the WLL on one side.
Use proper rigging angles — if the slings are not vertical, the WLL is reduced (use angle factor calculation).
Q3: Do you offer custom lengths and widths?
A: Yes. Class 7 flat web slings can be manufactured to custom specifications, including:
Custom lengths (from short loop slings to long-span slings)
Custom widths (wider for higher capacity, narrower for tight clearance)
Custom ply counts (1-Ply, 2-Ply, 3-Ply,4-Ply)
Custom eye sizes (standard or oversized for large hooks/shackles)
For custom orders, we need: WLL required → Hitch type → Lifting angle → Length between eyes → Environmental conditions (temperature, chemicals, UV exposure).
Q4: What certifications / documentation come with this sling?
A: Each Class 7 flat web sling comes with:
Test Certificate (proof-load test results)
Material Certificate (fiber type and grade verification)
ASME B30.9 Compliance Declaration
Inspection and Maintenance Log (recommended format)
Sling tag permanently attached — showing WLL, material, class, length, date of manufacture, and serial number
✅ For projects requiring full traceability, we can also provide Third-Party Inspection Reports.
Class 7 means rated loads are based on a stuffer weave construction webbing possessing a minimum certified tensile strength of 9,800 lbs/inch width
Lifting method and maximum safety working load parameter(from 1 ply eye-eye webbing sling)
